The true power of the RVP is its ability, via frame by frame HD video, to compare a student’s hitting and pitching mechanics against the best baseball/softball hitters and pitchers in the game. RVP speeds up the learning curve by improving the communication between player and coach. No longer does a player have to simply trust the coach or a Sandlot Sports trainer when he or she says “You are making a mistake.”; the player will see indisputable video evidence in seconds that illustrates all the aspects of the swing or pitching motion that are being conducted correctly or incorrectly. RVP helps the student match via video what he/she feels to what is real so he/she can make adjustments quicker and easier with longer lasting results.

RVP identifies the cause of problem spots. Most players realize when they have a problem with their pitching motion or swing, but the key to improving is identifying the cause. RVP is designed to step through the hitting and pitching motion at 60 fields per second (twice as many frames as a normal video) to isolate and identify the first cause of the problem. Often if you fix the first thing that goes wrong, it will solve a variety of symptoms that show up later in the motion.

RVP keeps it simple and gives players a purpose. RVP quickly identifies where a student can improve and provides analogies and drills to help the student understand and work on his or her individual needs. A video record of a player’s improvement is kept by Sandlot Sports and can be accessed remotely by the player or coach. RVP and Sandlot Sports will focus on improving one principle at a time so as to not overwhelm the player.

RVP ultimately saves the player and coach time. Quite simply, it’s faster and easier to show a technique than to explain it. RVP and Sandlot Sports will captures real time action; lessons that could take 15 to 20 minutes to explain can be shown in just seconds using good and bad examples. That same 15 to 20 minutes can be used to get all of your players focused on their particular needs.

RVP works for all ages. Even the youngest of players benefit from using RVP because most Little Leaguers have only seen the MLB players perform at game speed. RVP lets them see the motions at a speed they can comprehend. Our minds are set up to learn from trial and error and from watching how others succeed.

RVP was developed by major leaguers for major leaguers. Don Slaught, a 16 year major league veteran, is the creator and owner of the RVP system. Don personally conducted the sales effort and training with Sandlot Sports during the summer and fall of 2010. RVP is utilized by numerous major league and division 1 college programs including the KC Royals, Boston Red Sox, the University of Texas, and the University of Florida.
